The kindergarten students in my class are inquisitive, energetic, and hardworking scholars. My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions. It's my goal to create an engaging, positive, and organized classroom environment that helps all students to thrive.
I teach math, science, reading, and social studies at a Title I school in Arlington, Virginia.
In our classroom, we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, project-based learning, and flexible seating to ensure each student's needs are met!
My students are active learners, they are scientists, problem solvers, explorers, and creators. I am so lucky to be teaching this amazing group of students!
My Project
This year my district has transitioned to Structured Literacy and we are following the Science of Reading. I have already seen such growth in my kindergarten students by following the Science of Reading. However, we do not yet have engaging decodable books to help my students begin to read in small groups and at home.
The Flyleaf Decodable Book Set is a collection of engaging, meaningful, and comprehensible decodable books in a range of text types that includes narratives, informational texts, and poetry.
These texts are tied to a systematic phonics scope & sequence and give the most novice readers practice reading single consonants, short vowels, several high-utility digraphs and endings, and high-frequency words.
Your support will help provide us with decodable books and book bags for students to bring their books home in every night.
Thank you for your support & generosity, it means so much to us!
