My students need books for book clubs that promote deep discussions with interesting and meaningful story lines and an easel to organize and facilitate the discussions.
Every day we are excited about reading time. My students love reading great stories and sharing their understanding of the texts. They are faithful to their favorite authors and are waiting to read the next books in various series. There is nothing better than curling up with a great book.
Our school is very nurturing and inviting.
Our students come to school ready to learn and our parents are supportive and active. My fourth graders are very welcoming and loving. They have great senses of humor and I love to see their enthusiasm for reading. They are faithful to their favorite authors, but open to discover new books and series. Any one of them could tell you when a new book in a series is going to be released. They are definitely readers.
My Project
The books will be used by the students to continue their book clubs that they have been working in and have finished the first books in the different series that we are asking for the sequels to. They would like to have an area in the classroom to organize their club books and their discussion materials so that they may lead their discussions and set their goals for reading and skill work. The easel work station we are asking for will provide them with that space and a sense of responsibility in their own learning.
This project with help my students continue their reading lives with the sequels to the books they have read or are reading now.
The stories will help their love of reading grow. The work easel as well as the books will also provide additional opportunities for them to interact with each other in discussion groups and as well as make them more independent in tracking their reading goals.
