Kindergarten and first grade are so much fun! I teach kindergarten and first grade at a magnet school in North Carolina. I loop with my class, so this is my first year with a brand new group!
I have the privilege of teaching children at the age when they are eager to learn.
This window of opportunity lasts for a short period of time, and it is up to me to motivate students in a way that will encourage them to be lifelong learners.
My students enter the classroom each day with a smile, excited for the day of learning. I want to continue to facilitate this love of learning. Your support allows this to happen!
My Project

My students love getting together for "book club" and diving into the same book as a group.
They learn so many valuable skills when they read quality literature together, reflect on their reading, and discuss it with each other.
This year, my students have fallen in love with the Mercy Watson books, as well as the Mr. Putter and Tabby series. Unfortunately, we don't have any more books in these series in our classroom. I would like to have several more sets from each series so students can choose what they want to read.
I will have this same group of students again next year as first graders. We will have plenty of time to explore all of these books and they will be excited to see selections from beloved authors when we begin the year.
