My 5th-grade students attend a public school in New York and are in an ICT classroom. All of my students are eager to learn! Our community of learners is a melting pot of diversity. There are differences in their interests, backgrounds, and abilities, yet, they all come together through their love of reading. Some of my students have special needs and need a lot of support to achieve their learning goals. They are eager to learn and are all capable of learning. I hope to motivate my students to be excited about learning and surround them with a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment.

My Project
My students need fantasy chapter books for our upcoming reading unit. Usually, at this point in the year we are handing out fantasy chapter books and starting book clubs. However, since we cannot be in school we do not have access to all of our resources. This unit is always so much fun for my students. It breaks my heart that they cannot be together to have their book clubs. Your donation will help us get new fantasy books that we can mail to our students and hold our book clubs online.
Now more than ever, we need to provide our students with an engaging education, while at the same time, fostering their emotional development.
Online book club will of course be different than being together, but it will bring some sort of togetherness to be able to have our fantasy book clubs and make the rest of this year as normal as possible.
