My Project

Students need a choice in what they read. By providing them access to new books of their choosing, they will be more motivated to read. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and are drawn to various texts.

Book clubs allow students to share their enjoyment of reading with one another.

When they control the conversations in the group, they can discuss what is alive for them as a reader. It makes them more involved and willing to take risks in sharing their opinions. Their excitement about reading generally increases.
