My students need the Authentic Spanish Language Collection- Grade 5 (20 Books) so they can access reading in their native language. They also need the other books to participate in Book Clubs and studies with peers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Literacy is a key determinant in a child's lifetime educational attainment. The students learn reading and writing in my classroom. They are inquisitive, talented and eager to learn. There are three groups of fifth graders in my classroom, each classroom is it's own unique environment, but they are all connected through reading.
Literacy is a key determinant in a child's lifetime educational attainment.
My school serves a low income and primarily minority population. We have a lack of books and resources that negatively affects their access to a proper literary education. I want them to have greater literary opportunities, and this projects will help me reach this goal.
My Project
My students are in a Dual Language program that is designed to help them develop into bilingual and biliterate students. The resources are not sufficient at my school despite the large Latinx population. The Authentic Spanish Language Collection- Grade 5 (20 Books) will help the students have access to books that will help them reach the programs goal.
During my time as a teacher I have seen the positive impact of novel studies.
However, I have not had the resourcess and having multiples of books at different reading levels will level my library and allow me to hold book clubs.
