I have 40 wonderful fourth graders who come into my classroom! They are all very different in their own ways. More than 80% of my students come from a low income household and do not have the resources they need at home to better their education. I am working to build the best classroom atmosphere with the best materials!
I would love for my students to have access to materials in the classroom that will keep them engaged and excited to read!
They face many different obstacles in their lives and I have the ability to teach them ways around those obstacles! They are still learning new things every day and so am I. I would love to give them the learning environment that is safe and engaging for them to be able to stay focused on learning.
My Project
Books clubs are an excellent way for students to enjoy reading a certain title. This allows the students to read the novels and get together with their group once or twice a week to discuss it. Having new books to begin these book clubs with will help excite the students about the process and about reading them! The books have been chosen with the students in mind for them to enjoy this time more.
With the new sets of books my students will have a nice variety of high interest books to choose from.
The best way to increase the reading ability of students is for them to read more. Having the book clubs set up allows them to discuss more about their reading and hold them more accountable. This project will help my students enjoy their reading time a little bit more!
