My Students

Coming from working at a Title I school, I have seen the impact teachers have on students lives. I feel it is my job to create a classroom community full of love, where my students can thrive and grow.

My students are bright, excited, and fun-loving students that are preparing to take on the world.

My students have been greatly affected by COVID-19 for the past 3 school years. They have missed valuable instruction time due to quarantine, school closures, and family emergencies. As their teacher, I want to be able to provide my students with resources and materials that will benefit their education and emotional/social well being.

My Project

These resources will be used to demonstrate effective strategies needed for reader comprehension. I am starting a new program in my classroom for language arts focused around teacher mini lessons that flow into student led discussions about books that they are reading in their book clubs and strategies that they have used for reading comprehension. These books will serve as the model for the expectations I have for my students as they work together in their book clubs to find deeper meanings and interests in the books that they are reading and discussing.
