My students need book boxes in order to organize their reading materials to become better readers. These book boxes will allow the students to keep books at their desk for easy access.
The students need your support. I work in a Title 1 school. Our school is considered to be at a high poverty level. We have a 40% refugee population, 40% African American, and 20% other. We offer free breakfast and lunch to all students.
The students matter.
I would like to provide them with opportunities and knowledge to make the right decisions. The materials I am requesting will benefit students in my classroom that would not be able to have these materials without you.
My Project
Book boxes will allow my students to have easy access to book at their desks. Reading is an essential part of our day. They students have a mandated 90 minute reading block. During this time, students have the opportunity to read to self, read to partners, write about their books, have mini lessons, and take part in guided reading.
Books in students hands is important.
If my students have the opportunity to keep books at their desks, they can grab their books when they finish other subjects as well. It is important for my students to read throughout the whole day.
