Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am so lucky to be their 1st grade teacher! My students are very special to me for several reasons. They come from very diverse backgrounds. Some live in poverty, some have learning disabilities, and some have social and emotional needs, nonetheless whatever their background is, I try to give ALL my students the support they need to be successful in their learning. We learn from each other on a daily basis. My students are always curious, visual, and hands-on learners. They learn best when given opportunities!
My Project
Each morning we share breakfast together as a class followed by a class meeting where I am able to check in with my students and ensure that they have everything they need to do their best learning that day.
We are in need of new book bins!
These bins will hold our classroom and library books, reading logs, and daily materials. I am gradually transitioning to flexible seating. In order to keep our classroom well-ordered and organized, the book bins will house the students’ supplies and they will be able to take it to and from the seats they choose. This will be a huge asset to our classroom.
These bins will also allow us to keep our classroom library organized. My students will easily be able to search for books to read any day throughout the week.
