Hello! Let me introduce you to the students in my kindergarten classroom. There are twelve boys and eight girls in my class plus two special needs students that mainstream in our classroom. They are some of the sweetest, most kindhearted and loving children you could ever meet.
My students need book storage bins in our classroom library just the right size for their little hands to allow them freedom of choice when reading.
Individual book storage bins will allow me to organize our classroom library books by topics of interest. I will create topic labels such as Pets, Wild Animals, Fairy Tales, Sports, Community Helpers, Our Country, and more. My students have kid-friendly seating in the library area, and their books need to be organized in kid-friendly bins so they can choose a bin, sit on the couch or chair, and enjoy reading.
My Project
Book bins will provide just the right size bins for little hands as students choose a bin of books by topic to enjoy reading. Each book bin will have a topic label and contain books for beginning readers. Bins labeled by topic will allow students to explore several books of interest without having to get up and get another book. They will have an entire bin dedicated to a specific topic of interest. Topics will include Pets, Sports, Fairy Tales, Disney, Science, Space, How-To, and more. All books will be organized and in a labeled bin for easy access.
A child who doesn't like to read just hasn't found the right book!
My goal is to make finding the right book easy to create lifelong readers!
