My Students

I have the privilege of teaching at a NEW elementary school in Washington, D.C. for the 2018-19 school year. I will be shifting to a third grade position, where we will be focused on our writing skills and STEM integration. I am excited to meet my new community and truly phenomenal students. I have no doubt my new class will come to school each morning full of energy, questions, and wonder.

My new school is a newly appointed STEM school, and I am working with the STEM coordinator to amp up the classroom environment and bring our third graders’ minds to life!

My Project

In our classroom, students have 20 to 30 minutes every day to read to themselves independently. Having a place to keep our books is key!

Having brightly colored book boxes will give us a space to keep all of the things we are reading, and give us easy access to our materials.

Since this is such a large part of our day, it only seems right that we have dedicated space. Having a variety of colors will allow students to pick their own box, and these are sturdy enough to last for years to come. I have a group of students who love to read and research, and these will provide our classroom with individual space to keep materials.
