My classroom consists of inclusion, ELL, and general education students who come together on a daily basis to be successful. They participate in a reading program which requires one-on-one conferencing, small group instruction, and 30 minutes of independent reading throughout the day.
In my classroom, we enjoy collaborating with our peers to give kind, specific, helpful feedback.
All of my students are very eager to learn, and enjoy working with one another. I want them to have a fun place to learn, feel safe, and know that they are valued and have a voice.
My Project
My students love having the flexibility of collecting books for their own personal libraries. We do so by using book bins, which provides them with an easier method of transporting the books to and from their reading spots. We also like carrying our books outside, or to the cafeteria or hallway to read. However, many of our current book bins have sharp edges from cracking, and many have broken while a student was carrying them, causing their books to fall everywhere.
The new book bins would be such a nice thing to have in order for everyone to have the opportunity to easily carry their books around the room, or even to other places in the building.
