My Students
I teach 2nd grade in an amazing school full of wonderful students! I have worked very hard to instill a true love and desire of reading in my students. For the past few years I have had my classroom library divided into 5 very general tubs. My students struggle to find the exact right book and are constantly asking me if I have more of “this kind” of book. I recently discovered a way to easily and effective organize my books into baskets.
My Project
Organizational palooza! These baskets will help me organize my classroom library by theme, reading level, and special interests of my students. My students will have an easier time finding and returning books that they use during independent reading time. Over my 20 years of teaching I have collected quite the assortment of books and currently they are in 5 white dish tubs. Students struggle to sift through and find a good fit book. All my chapter books are shoved in one closet shelving system and it is nearly impossible for students to access them with ease. These baskets would make a world of difference to me and my students.
