The third graders I teach are passionate, eager to explore, tech-savvy, and very active! Over half of my students are considered low-income, but they all have big dreams and goals for their futures. Reading helps children imagine and open their minds to the possibilities of tomorrow. Students who struggle need extra support to ensure they are successful in the classroom. When you support our classroom, you are helping all children reach their full potential as they grow in the classroom!
My Project
My third grade reading students are expected to spend time reading each day—in guided reading small groups, with a partner, or independently. They need a place to store their guided reading books and “just right” books of their choice. Currently, we use gallon-size plastic storage bags, but they are not very durable. We have been fortunate to receive one set of these book bags through Donors Choose and can’t wait to have enough for every student! These high-quality canvas bags would be a great place to keep our books clean, safe, and accessible. They also have a place to put student names, which would help students quickly locate their own bags. These bags are also easily carried from one literacy activity to another. With your help, my students can store their books in a neat, organized way!
