Book Baggies: Good for the Home

My students need sturdy book baggies to transport books from class to home for daily reading.

My Students

Last year my school piloted a Dual Language program starting in kindergarten. Since it's still in its conception, everything we do is brand new.

I have 50 students to care for and double the work, but I continue to welcome the challenge.

This also means double the supplies. My students come from South Africa, South America, Dominican Republic and the US. It is definitely a diverse group learning to be bilingual. Our school is located in a high poverty area and so it is with the help and support of that my classes have survived some difficulties these past couple of years.

My Project

Having book baggies will help my students in transporting their reading books from the classroom to the bedroom. If I expect them to read each night, they will need a good supply of books. To have a good supply of books, they need a way to get these books home without getting lost or damaged. Book baggies will keep the books safe and in one place.

Inside these baggies, students will place their favorite books along with their nightly reading log.

These baggies will keep students accountable for their belongings as well as showing them to be responsible for their supplies.
