Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember the first time you read a book you really loved? I want my kiddos to be able to read and share their love for books with their community through digital media.
I teach 22 curious kindergarten and first grade students.
Our school is a Title I school and more than 98% of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Many of my students do not have any books at home. The majority of my students have not been read to before starting school or have had any educational opportunities.
My Project
I will have the children read the King Series books and other great books. Then through digital media, I will have the children make an "ad" to encourage others to read the books they love. We will display the ads on a digital photo frame for all to see. This activity will have the students analyze great literature, and incorporate 21 century learning aide to promote reading!
This project is so important because children need to be able to easily incorporate 21st century learning into their everyday classroom activities.
This project will bridge the gap between the love of reading and technology.
