This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students love and enjoy using any type of technology they can get their hands on. Paper and pencil does not have the same value it once had and that's why Boogie Boards will add life to my small group lessons.

My students are 5 and 6 and LOVE learning.

The sky is the limit for my students, as they have vivid imaginations. At the beginning of the year, many of my students are only able to recognize a few letters and sounds. However, my goal is to have fluent readers by the end of kindergarten. Using various types of learning materials, hands-on activities, and technology will keep my students engaged and wanting to learn more. Our school often has great incentives to motivate our students to read. My school is a Title I school, in which at least 50% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch. This is why your assistance would be so valuable.

My Project

Kindergarten is where writing begins. Boogie boards in kindergarten will get my students excited about writing. From words to sentences, from sentences to books, my students will become authors as the year progresses. Using Boogie Boards in the classroom, will make students want to write and have fun. They will be able to practice spelling skills, letter formation, and math with the stroke of a stylus! They will learn to become independent writers as they learn that writing is a way to express themselves.

The possibilities are endless with technology, as you help shape future authors, scientists and mathematicians. The future is in their "hands".
