This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 3rd grade in a Title I school in a suburban area. This year, I have the same students in my class as last year. As diverse as my students are economically and culturally, they are diverse academically. They are all creative and eager to learn.

They love to build and explore.

When given the opportunity to create something from scratch, they are engaged and excited to learn. While engineering, they work with others to promote healthy teamwork and positive communication skills.

My Project

My students need an alternative to the white boards and dry erase markers that give off a pungent scent and requires the use of other materials to clean.

These Boogie Boards will give my students a fun way to write and respond during lessons or when they work in partners.

Simply using this tool will provide buy-in from students, which will in turn make them more eager to participate.

These boards can be used across every subject area, in small groups, as well as whole group lessons. Students can also use these to compete against each other during "beat the clock" lessons.
