Each day comes with its own set of challenges; yet, I find myself ending my days with such fulfillment. My students have stolen my heart from the first day. Each child contributes to our classroom in their own unique way. Despite coming from an area of poverty, the kids walk in the door with their heads held high.
In our classroom, you will find sixteen young learners who are working on becoming mindful and meaningful members of the future.
My students have embraced the motto "It's OK to Make Mistakes." The children work cooperatively toward achieving greatness on a daily basis. Pushing each other to be the best they can be, my students give me energy and drive to do my best.
We focus on using positive behavior interventions and supports school-wide to help our students blossom into respectful, responsible, cooperative, and safe citizens. We are also one of the smallest schools in our district, which allows us to build an incredible community for our students. Many students know all of the teachers. In my classroom, I am confident that my students are supported at school and will continue to inspire others as they grow and develop independence into adulthood.
My Project
Help me give my students an opportunity to share their thinking quickly and excitedly! With Boogie Boards, my students will have an ink-free tool to practice skills in reading, math, spelling, writing, and more!
Boogie Boards are an exciting new technological tool that will allow students to share their thinking in a quick, engaging, clean, and simple way!
In first grade, much of our learning is done through teacher modeling and repeated practice. Whiteboards have typically been a go to tool to allow students to quickly practice skills. Unfortunately, mishaps are frequent and tools need to be replaced too quickly.
Students will be able to show their thinking on the Boogie Board just as they currently do with whiteboards. They can clear their slate at the click of a button - no eraser needed!
