A typical day in our classroom would find my students actively engaged in hands-on activities. Children learn best when they are involved in their own learning and have opportunities to put their best foot forward. I want to give my students that opportunity in every way possible.
My students are full-day kindergarten, 31 friends in all.
We work hard and play hard! We have some students reading at 1st grade level, and some students still working to identify their ABC's and 123's. This is their first official year of grade school and we are excited about everything! We are busy all day long and have a lot of energy. We work best when we are all engaged in our learning, everyone being accountable for their work. We use small white boards everyday to produce and show what we know, and are looking to change it up a bit!
My Project
Does anyone remember how difficult it was to learn to form letters, numbers, words, sentences correctly? Maybe yes maybe no, but it is more difficult than you may recall. The 16 Boogie Boards I am asking for will be such a quick, easy tool to grab so we can practice handwriting, engage in written response (whether that response be a picture, letter, numbers, word, etc), participate in group discussions, and use in place of traditional dry erase boards. We can take them on the go for learning adventures outside of the classroom, too. The possibilities are truly limitless! Boogie Boards will allow my students another way to individually respond during our learning time. They will allow my students to record their answers and work with partners during pair share time. We can use Boogie Boards during center time and partner time.
Bringing Boogie Boards into my classroom will help engage my little friends in their day to day learning!
They will be an additional hands-on tool which will enable them to build on there skills and increase their opportunities to learn. All children deserve the most up to date learning tools in their classrooms, and I want the best for my little friends. Thank you for considering helping us!
