My students need books that will capture their attention and make them want to read. We need 2 copies of the same titles so that we can form book partnerships.
I teach at a title 1 school. Many students are from low-income families. A lot of the families do not speak English.
My students are trying hard to learn all they can, but do not always have the tools they need to be successful.
Giving them the tools they need will increase their chances of being successful and is another step in the right direction.
I want my students to love reading as much as I do. Unfortunately, I am unable to fully fund my own library and need your support.
My Project
My students need an assortment of books to capture and hold their attention. I have a range of readers from below grade level expectations to above and therefore need a range of levels of books.
We will be forming book partnerships soon for students to read the same book as their partner and then discuss to deepen their comprehension.
Therefore we will need more than one copy of several titles.
