My Students

Students come from all over the city to attend our exam school. As a community, we are proud of our diversity -- nearly ninety percent of our student population comes from a minority group -- and our commitment to a rigorous academic experience for all who walk through our doors.

We like to think of our library both as the heart of the school and as a hub for learning.

There are so many readers with broad ranges of interest who depend on us for supporting their information needs, yet we struggle to meet our goal of matching every reader with a book that's a good fit.

My Project

We are dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of our 1000+ student readers. This means that we strive to always have titles on hand to satisfy any reader's request. Next month, our school community will celebrate Black History Month. We'll take part in the celebration in a number of ways -- one of the most visible will be to display with pride our collection of titles that honor the stories and histories of people of color.

In order to fully represent the journeys of Black Americans, our collection should reflect the rich contributions and narratives made available in print format.

Adding the titles (books) on this list to our library will enable us to move closer toward meeting this goal.
