Body Systems for Hurricane Sandy Students
My students need 1 Human Body chart and 1 Human Body Model Activity set to know how the systems of the body work.
Hurricane Sandy and the storm surge crippled our small, waterfront community. Many have had to live going into our third week without heat, all have had unplanned days off from school, and some no longer have homes to return to.
A snapshot of our middle school shows a diverse high-need school comprised of over 1,000 students in grades 6 to 8.
Half of our student population currently receives free or reduced priced lunch. Approximately half of our students receive support services in addition to their core classes. Many of our students are not native English speakers.
All of my Health students are 8th graders. The district is a lower income area where many of the parents do not talk to the children about their bodies. The students are all curious and interested in different content. They love learning about their body and have tons of questions. We study about the different body systems and the function of each. Please help my students learn about the respiratory, circulatory, reproductive and other body systems with 1 Human Body chart and Human Body Model Activity set.
With your assistance, my students will learn more about their bodies.
This is life information our kids should know about themselves. They have a genuine interest and having tangible displays will enhance their learning.
