Do you remember how much fun it was to discover new activities in PE class?
My students are very special because they could have a parent deployed.
They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet.
My 600 students in grades K-5 attend a public school located on a military base in Florida. It is an international coalition of wonderful kids! I want to expand their PE curriculum to include Bocce, an international sport.
My students will learn about the history of Bocce. Bocce is a perfect game of inclusion, requiring an underhand toss of a weighted, handheld ball. The objective of the game is to place the balls closest to the target. Also, I want the students to focus on respect for each other. I am requesting 6 games to keep all students moving.
This project is important because it is PE "outside of the box".
I played kickball, dodgeball and tag as a child in school. Let's broaden the horizon for 500 military children. Thanks for your support! Even I can't wait to play Bocce!
