Help me give my students these "BOB Books" that contain consistent, simple vocabulary, come in a variety levels, and multiple copies for small group intervention to learn reading strategies and apply those researched-based techniques to become proficient readers!
My students come from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. In addition, the spectrum of individual and special needs within my student population is quite widespread. All of my students love hands-on, engaging and meaningful work. There are many challenges that my students have to face, but they come in everyday eager to learn. Our school is striving to grow and develop our students into thinkers and doers. We make sure to balance direct instruction but provide the time for the students to do their own exploration and learning independently with support as needed. We just started a fresh school year, and I am so eager to watch my students develop into wonderful students!
Students that have these types of special needs often require a little "push" to grab their attention in academics and school in general.
My students have that grit to persevere through challenging tasks and activities.
Some of these students are socially inept and some just cannot focus on the task at hand. They deserve to have high-quality, educational, developmentally appropriate materials and resources at their fingertips to promote growth and discovery.
My Project
These little "BOB Books", developed by a Kinder teacher, are the perfect way to provide enriched, research-based, developmentally appropriate practice to help Kinder students learn how to read. They contain consistent vocabulary, come in a variety of levels from emergent to complex, and have humorous characters and stories to engage students in learning.
My passion is to help students with special needs develop and practice reading strategies and build confidence in their ability to become proficient readers!
By using these books in small reading groups, students will be provided with foundational opportunities involving emergent and complex reading skills. Thank you for your help!
