My students are a wonderful mix of personalities! They are funny and sweet, charismatic and kind. We are a neighborhood school so many of these students will be here for the duration of their Elementary school days. They are a very diverse group with many literacy needs. They are constantly moving and energetic and need a curriculum to match their energy level. They are always fun to introduce new activities or concepts because they truly enjoy learning and experiencing something new.
I am working towards becoming a Board Certified Teacher. This is a professional growth opportunity which will allow me to become a more accomplished and effective educator. Becoming Board Certified requires that I demonstrate standards-based evidence of the positive effect I have on student learning in alignment with the Five Core Propositions in Early Childhood Generalist.
Every student deserves to be taught by a highly effective and accomplished teacher.
The National Board Certification is a rigorous process that allows teachers an opportunity to prove their effectiveness in the classroom by completing four total components in the teacher’s area of expertise. The process will require that I demonstrate my content knowledge as well as my application of such knowledge. It will require me to reflect on my teaching and my students' learning to prove that my teaching strategies are effective and differentiated to meet individual student's needs. The process is challenging, but becoming a National Board Certified Teacher is worth it! Thank you for your consideration.
