My Students

I have an energetic group of THIRTY fourth grade students that are eager learners with a variety of needs. We are on the verge of being a Title I school, and due to that, we have more needs than we have resources.

We are a free breakfast and lunch school in a very diverse city.

Travel and outside experiences are very limited due to distance so we have to explore the world around us through the use of technology and books.

My Project

Students in my class are a diverse group of students who come from many different cultural backgrounds. They often don't speak English at home and their language skills are limited.

Many students in my class live in poverty and don't have games at home.

These games include Connect 4, Trouble, and Sorry! and will create childhood memories they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Playing board games will help my students develop language skills, problem-solving skills, work on their communication skills, and develop social skills. Developing these important social-emotional skills is important for elementary students in order to be successful later in life.
