My students are writers, readers, thinkers, comedians, explorers, and dreamers. Everyday, we learn something new from each other. They have so much to offer!
I teach at a Title I school in Indiana where 55 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend, and our school also runs a food pantry for our families. Despite so many difficulties, my students work hard in school so they can have better futures and become who they want to be.
My Project
My students work hard in language arts. We do grammar, vocabulary, guided reading, and mini-lessons almost every day! When this is for months at a time (especially during the gap between winter and spring breaks), this can get exhausting.
My students deserve a chance to take a break from normal schoolwork once in a while.
These games will provide the perfect opportunity to accomplish this! The games I've selected, like Quiddler, Scrabble, Bananagrams, Scattegoires, and more, are all word-based, so my students will still be learning. But the learning will take place in a fun, collaborative environment where they're allowed to be kids for a little while!
