Board Games Build Community

Help me give my students fun games to play during lunch in the library and for Mentorship teachers to check out for team building and fun during Mentorship class.

My Students

Our diverse school of 1100 students is committed to racial justice and equity. My students are passionate learners who actively pursue social justice, and our school emphasizes the core values of the Coalition of Essential Schools and project-based learning.

Returning to school after more than a year of remote learning, our focus is now on making school safe and welcoming for everyone.

Our students devote time and energy to collaborating with teachers and administration on developing projects, as well as advocating for students furthest from educational justice.

My Project

Our students love to spend time in the library. It's a space for relaxation, fun, and spending time with friends. Our current board game collection is sadly small and missing many essential pieces.

Students regularly request specific board games that they'd love to play during lunch time and after school with friends and classmates.

Plus, we have Mentorship classes that meet twice a week for building connections and community. Teachers often request the opportunity to check out board games for these classes so that students can have a shared fun activity to engage in.
