My class this year is very eclectic. Most of them come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. The experiences they have of the outside world come from the classroom. Most of the students do not have access to a computer at home, so teaching them hands-on approaches improve their learning in the classroom.
My students learn better when the lesson involves hands-on activities.
They learn better when using a device, such as a Chromebook or a whiteboard. Since our boards are not the best, students have been using their desks, which they also enjoy, but the desks are not always the better option.
My Project
I would like for each student to have access to their own individual whiteboard during class. This will ensure that every student is on task and learning to the best of their ability. With these materials I will be more able to guide the students through lessons because they will not have to share resources. Students will even be able to work at their own pace without constant guidance from the teacher.
I love asking a question and having students show different ways that it can be answered and the boards are a great way to highlight the different strategies that each student uses.
They will even be able to showcase their work by showing others what they have done.
