My students come from a low income, high-poverty part of the city, where they need opportunities to succeed. Young children need to start their learning journey early.
I teach at a Title I school in Virginia, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
For some of my students, this is their first school experience, and I want to make it a great one. They really enjoy school and learning. As little learners, they also love to read, write and grow.
I teach very little learners and for many of them this is their first school experience and their first experience with books.
Little learners can be a little rough with books and by investing in board books, the books will last for many years, helping many little learners.
Students will learn the proper way to care for books and so much more. There will be counting books, rhyming books. I have even requested board books that have repetitive text. So not only will the books last through the years. They will also be a source of learning.
