Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a school where more than three-quarters of students are on free or reduced lunch. They are 4th graders who love to be read aloud to and enjoy discussing many different topics in order to reach those higher order thinking skills.
The joy of teaching on our campus comes from the motivation our students have to learn!
Our students enjoy attending school, and many times are disappointed when a holiday is near because they will be away from school for so long. So we invite you to help us become a stronger academic learning environment!
My Project
The Bluebonnet Book list is announced every year for students to get excited about "quality books, develop critical reading skills, and honor and encourage imaginative authors. "
I would love to be able give my students the opportunity to fully participate in the activities set up around the Bluebonnet list in our school and district.
The students will have access to quality books, and help them feel a part of something greater than themselves. On this list are 20 books from different levels, different points of views, and culturally diverse backgrounds.
The best opportunity I can give my bilingual students is the availability of being included and feeling proud to take part in their school's activities and competitions.
