This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the reason I come to work every day! They are hard working, determined, persistent, and eager to push themselves to new limits. My kids LOVE to read! They will work harder for extra independent reading time than for anything else. I want to foster this love of reading by providing them with a great variety of quality literature. My students are what make our school a National Blue Ribbon School and the talk of our school district!

My Project

These books are not only age-appropriate, quality literature, but they are engaging! The kids love these titles. If funded, this project would allow for each student in each of my three sections of ELA to have access to the text for literature circles, or "book club," as well as access to the novels for homework. This will allow students to work at their own pace, not having to worry about sharing a book or working too slow or too fast. Students will have the freedom to re-read the text, the time to cite text evidence, and most importantly, the time and freedom to enjoy their reading!
