My students need materials that are hands on and also able to provide independent practice that is differentiated. The Versatiles are an amazing material that will help students be successful!
My students are independent thinkers! They are caring, creative and are actively growing and moving towards becoming lifelong learners! They come from low income families and diverse backgrounds, and, for most of them, English is not their first language. They are eager to learn whether it be hands-on or independent work, despite the many challenges they face!
In my classroom, all students are able to learn and feel a part of a community.
My students are striving to become respectful and responsible citizens. The students are immersed in a classroom of high expectations and academic achievement which balances this with nurturing and love!
The students are respected and loved. Anyone that visits can see that! I believe it is important to provide a comfortable learning environment which fosters a sense of comfort and safety.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' lives because they will help them gain understanding of specific math skills through the use of hands on materials. Due to the area, materials are limited and not available to everyone. These manipulatives, like the Tangrams kit and balance, will provide them with a more concrete experience that will leave a lasting impression. We are struggling like never before when it comes to these skills.
These's manipulatives will provide students an opportunity to be successful and independent!
I am certain that with these games as an additional tool, my students will be able to master these skills.
