My students' uniqueness is what makes them very special! They are all low socioeconomic students. They come from broken homes and unstable atmospheres. Not only that, but some of them were also affected by Hurricane Harvey. Even though they have gone through these struggles they always keep a positive attitude about things and are ready to learn.
The classes I teach are Ag Principles, Equine Science, and Floral Design.
These courses are to help prepare my students for their future. We focus on a lot of hands-on learning and project-based lessons. My students enjoy working in groups and doing class projects. They need help being provided for in order to be successful in the classroom.
A new school year is a new start for my students. I strive to provide as much supplies for them that I can. More than half of my students will not be able to bring supplies to class that I ask them to. With this project I am asking for everyday supplies that my students will use to help make their learning more enjoyable.
I am starting a new Floral Design class this year.
We currently are very limited on supplies for this class. I want my students to have a wonderful first time experience in this new program. One of the items I am asking for is a movable shelf. With this shelf my students will be able to place their floral arrangements and other projects on, without having to worry about other students messing with them. It will also provide a platform to be able to deliver arrangements to other fellow teachers by the students.
Every classroom needs a warm environment. The supplies I have chosen will help make my classroom a better environment for my students. Hand sanitizer and tissues are a huge part. I cant tell you how many times I have run out of these and the students want more. Disinfecting wipes will help my students keep their areas clean, as well as, keep the germs away. The letter tray will allow my students to stay organized. Each tray will be for a separate class where they can turn in their work. They can gain responsibility skills through this expectation. My students mean the world to me and nothing would make me more happy then to be able to provide everyday supplies for them.
