My students need blood kits to help them better understand how blood typing has been very important in eliminating suspects.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Miss N, I want to take Automatics and Robotics but I have band during your elective. What should I do?" What are you supposed to do? Last year was my first year teaching STEM and because of our small school there was only one time slot for it, which made it difficult for band kids to take my course. So we made a deal. I would stay for them if they would stay for me. This is just one example of how dedicated these students are.
If they are willing to give me their all, then I must also give it my all.
Providing them with the right tools to learn more about the different careers in STEM is what's important to me.
My Project
These supplies will help fuel my students' interest in a biomedical career. Students will learn about the different types of blood and how it is collected during a crime scene. After the blood is collected students will use these blood kits to help isolate what type of blood the victim had and what blood was found at the crime scene.
Students will be engaged during the whole lesson because the materials will help make the lesson more relatable.
The kits will also teach how antibodies in the body can help and harm the body if the wrong type of blood is donated to a patient.
