Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school has a high poverty student population, but the community is what makes our school! We have wonderful families who send their children to school every day ready to learn. The majority of my students are English Language Learners, so English is their second language and they are still expected to perform at the national average on their tests.

Our ELLs come to school everyday motivated to learn even though they don't understand English.

My students have to work extra hard in order to succeed in school due to the lack of understanding English.

My Project

I share my room with another ELL Teacher. We both teach small groups. We both have around six to eight children every 30 minutes all day, with a total of seven classes a day. It's hard for my students to focus on their reading when there is another class going on across the room.

Headphones will give my students the opportunity to enhance learning and focus.

Headphones will help block the surrounding noise and allow my students to concentrate on their reading and work. It will be allowable to raise the volume without interrupting the other student's learning. Headphones will keep noise level at a minimum level while keeping learning at a maximum level.
