Help me give my students Derwent graphite drawing pencils, blending stumps and chamois for a successful year in thier Environmental and Life Drawing Courses!
My students attend a Title I public school in a diverse community. Our school is one of seven high schools in our city and with a student population of roughly 2,000 children. My students deserve a well-stocked art classroom and a variety of materials to better explore their world and learn about life through the arts! As 100% free lunch district, resources are always extremely limited. My yearly budget is $2.00 per student which makes it very difficult to provide students with interesting, engaging and creative projects. Multiple times over the year I purchase supplies out of my own pocket to provide students with new experiences but these projects would help me to reach all students. Just this year alone I hosted a gallery walk where each students' artwork was on display. Over 500 original masterpieces lined our hallways. Artists from all walks of life were represented and showcased.
My students are creative and love to learn about art through the exploration of materials.
They love hands-on, active, and engaging projects. Truly, they are my inspiration. The relationship we create and maintain is one of the main reasons I continue to give my all in an inner-city district!
My Project
Students will be able to use these Derwent Graphite Drawing Pencils, Blending Stumps and Chamois to create professional quality artwork in class. When they create their drawings they will be able to use these superior quality materials to add delicate blended details to their artwork. This will facilitate student learning by allowing students create unique and diverse blending and shading to their artwork. Students will be immersed in a wealth of alternative approaches to the creation of artwork by utilizing new professional shading techniques.
These Derwent Graphite Drawing Pencils, Blending Stumps and Chamois will be invaluable as each of my 7 classes daily passing through will have access to this resource and be able to add dynamic shading and blending to their artwork.
As I continue to integrate dynamic art projects into my classroom it is imperative that these students have an equal opportunity to use supplies that will help creatively engage them in the arts. Thank you for supporting my students’ artistry.
