Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are eager learners. They attend a public elementary school that has high standards for both students and educators. I have 32 4th graders. The mission of my school is to provide a challenging environment that promotes learning and achievement for all students. Approximately 2/3 of my students are assessing at or above grade level. The remainder of the class is performing below grade level in reading and or math. Federal regulations mandate that teachers meet the learning needs of EACH student. Having accessibility to technology/Chromebooks, in the classroom, will aid in doing so.

My Project

This laptop will make a difference in student learning because it will enable them to continue learning even when I’m not able to come to school and/or when they are unable to come to school. With the use of a laptop for use at my home, I will be able to teach mandated curriculum via online blended learning. Students are highly engaged with technology and respond well with school-based programs that I will be able to assign for student home use. Our world is changing and this will help students continue to learn in spite of recent health crisis.
