My Students

Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 60% of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is very ethnically diverse and many of our students have not only financial needs, but emotional needs, as well. Many of our students come from "broken homes" where they don't have a mom or dad to feed them a healthy dinner or read to them at night. These students come to school not always ready to learn.

As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics, as well.

The needs of my students are far greater because of their home lives and I'm trying my best to create a safe, happy environment for all of them.

My Project

My students will be using this technology in their cooperative learning centers to go on websites, complete assignments, and explore with different activities and real-world projects. Currently, I do not have enough tablet or computers for all of my students to have this opportunity on a daily basis. It's so important for our kids to be able to explore and interact with computers, since that is the way of the world these days! There are so many ways that computers can be used in the classroom to enhance our student's education, and the more opportunities that they have, the better the outcome.
