Blended Learning in First Grade

My students need two chromebooks to help us have enough technology for each child to have a device and increase our ability to use technology in the classroom.

My Students

My first grade students are full of energy and excitement each and every day. They come to school with a love for learning, and our class is a support system to help keep this love for learning going throughout the entire year. My students are ethnically diverse, economically diverse, and are diverse learners as well.

My students are eager to learn, and I am eager to give them the tools they need to succeed.

Their excitement each day helps motivate not only one another, but it also helps motivate me to be the best teacher I can be.

My Project

We have just started a brand new online reading program that my class LOVES. The program is helping build foundational reading skills that then transfer to their guided reading lessons and reading at home. Using devices I have acquired from previous grants and my personal devices, my class is very close to having enough devices for each student to have a device of their own.

These two chromebooks will allow my class to have a one-to-one ratio with devices and access to technology more frequently.

With a one-to-one ratio, my students will be able to interact with educational programs, create projects using technology, and grow academically.
