Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have not met my students yet. Not the ones for this 19-20 school year. However, my experience in this district allows me to describe my students as energetic and curious. What they have in particular is their drive to learn English as a second language. Despite of their challenges, financial and emotional, they still keep their smile and their willingness to learn. These are children that desperate need routines, rules and structure which will help them with their security issues.

My Project
These materials will provide my students not only academic enrichment, but also emotional basics skills in their first language. It will also expose them to some of the best known children's books such as Eric Carl's books.
My kindergarten bilingual children need the Spanish literature to have a strong and solid foundation to later succeed in the second language acquisition.
This year I will put more emphasis in the Spanish Language learning process and I am sure that these materials will facilitate and make the activities fun and interesting for my students and their parents.
Hands-on activities using the letter tiles in Spanish and attractive books will create an atmosphere of interest and fun for my 5 and 6 year-olds.
