My Students

Our students come from diverse backgrounds and are encouraged to learn from each other. Our students come to school to learn both academic and social behaviors. To do so, many of our scholars on the autism spectrum face daily challenges of understanding social cues and building and maintaining relationships with their peers.

Our students are the most diverse students in our district, teaching their peers love, empathy, understanding, and the joys of neurodiversity.

Students on the spectrum struggle to play and work with peers. By utilizing high-interest, project-based curriculum, students can achieve high academic expectations and work on their interpersonal skills. Our classroom will become a valuable environment that best meets the needs for these gifted students.

My Project

Students benefit from having access to high-interest materials to motivate them to accomplish challenging academic tasks. Their enthusiasm to learn about space also encourages them to work with their peers towards a common goal. The materials from this project will help students achieve their academic best by giving them opportunities to learn by reading, playing, building, and experimenting. The games will help students understand the material while working on fundamental social skills such as taking turns, communicating, waiting, and interacting with peers. The "Space Explorers Science Kits" will allow students to work in small groups, introducing them, for the first time, to robotics and engineering while working on the fundamental skill of working with peers. The "Space and Building Blocks Set" is ideal for working with a partner towards a common goal.

Students will utilize these materials to achieve academic and social success, by learning about space through reading, playing, building, and experimenting while working on crucial social skills.

Each student will find the materials that resonate best with their needs, and your support will help provide the best materials for their learning.
