This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I am the technology support teacher (computer teacher) in a public school in an inner city environment. I teach grades kindergarten through seventh grade. Many of my students come from low income homes and the only opportunity for them to use technology is while they are at school. Our students use computers and various other types of technology to learn and reinforce subject matter in all areas.
All grade levels that visit computer lab do a great deal of work. Whether it be graphic organizers, reports, creative writing, math activities or research across all subject areas, students need to be able to print their work. It is great to have it saved on the hard drive, but printing a hard copy is necessary to the completion of their assignments.
We are fortunate enough to have a great color laser printer that was provided to us by the kind donations of individuals through Donors Choose. Since our students have been busy creating wonderful pieces of work, we have run out of ink.
Ink for our color laser printer would be beneficial to our students. Students would then be able to print and revise writings, share their work with other students and teachers and create a wide variety of projects.
We would love to have replacement ink for our printer so students can continue to produce and share their accomplishments.
