This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I recently met an author during my family vacation. She gave me an autographed copy of her wonderful book that she and her son coauthored. This read aloud will give my students access to phonemic awareness review while allowing them to travel to different places in Africa.

Each homeroom K-4 will receive a copy of the book for their classroom libraries.

We will also place some copies in our iMedia Center. This book will increase student pride in their heritage as they see themselves in this book along with common experiences shared with Malik, the main character.
