This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are thirsty for knowledge. They are inquisitive about the world around them and how to be globally competent and ready to compete. They are bound to be leaders of their generation and excel in the 21st century. My students will take active roles in our community.

My Project

Students will be participating in a book club for the Month of February. The Social Studies Department has chosen this book to be the focus of one of the books we will be reading. We hope to not only bring literacy to focus, but to also bring history to the classroom in a discussion format. Students will be encouraged to blog, participate in Socratic Seminars, and present their understandings of the text.

The Social Studies Department is eager to begin the community together to learn about and discuss matters that are important.
