My Students
At our Title I school in South Carolina 100% of our students receive free lunch; therefore, parents often don't have the funds to buy books or other basic school supplies. Our families have limited reading and other academic materials at home. However, our parents know when they send them to school, they are getting the best education possible.
Nothing compares to teaching second grade than teaching second grade to a classroom of all girls.
My single-gender girls are an amazing group of young ladies that come to school every day prepared to put their all into everything they do. With your support, they will have the materials needed to add to their work ethic.
My Project
I am blessed to teach a third-grade multicultural class. In my classroom, most of my students are African American, as their teacher it is my responsibility to both educate and inspire them.
My students need to know that in our classroom they are valued, respected, and ultimately they need to know that they are seen, we are not a color-blind class.
In a world where being black is a danger to their lives every day they need a reprieve in school; They need books that show them how wonderful they are, how they are loved, cared for, and WORTHY.
