Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have an outstanding school in a large urban area. The teachers here work tirelessly to bring engaging, fun activities to enhance our curriculum. Because of the numerous budget cuts, we have had to seek funding for the "extras" that the kids absolutely love.
Our students rock!
Even though we have over 1,000 elementary students, our school has a "family" feeling to it. The staff is great and works very hard to encourage the students to become successful members of society. Many of the students come from homes where many of their basic needs aren't met. We strive to give them the love and confidence they need to survive. This is a difficult world, but we know that with enough help, love, and guidance; they will have a bright future.
My Project
My students are eager learners! They love to find out new things about the world around them. As they are all 21st Century learners, integrating technology with science and math is a challenge that they are openly welcome to.
Our students rock!
They would be so excited to be able to utilize their research skills and have fun using their creative side as well in choosing their own bird to research and make. When students have a choice when it comes to what they want to research, they take great pride and ownership in it. Each student will share their research with the class.
