This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a group of curious, kind, and compassionate learners. They have bonded during the school year and show love, respect and caring for all things especially each other and things in nature.
They constantly strive to amaze me with their love for learning by always connecting to all of our activities, asking questions and making me find more information for them.
They have a love of writing and have become some of the best little artist I've had the opportunity to work witm.
My Project
We would like to add benches and planters which will provide a ecstatically pleasing place to write and reflect as we watch nature around us. My students have been working on creating a space outside where we can take care of birds and share the enjoyment with the whole school. We visit our bird area daily to write and replentish bird food.
The excitement of having an area right outside our school where we can learn about birds and experience nature has been phenomenal!
We are seeing others students visit and enjoy the area.
When we connect deeply with what is right outside our door, the desire to learn about and protect the environment grows.
